Looking to the future

I have no idea what my next semester is going to be like. I really don't want to spend another four months at home. My family drives me a little crazy (okay, more than a little). Trying to find an internship for the spring. That's proving to harder than I thought. Most theaters only offer summer programs. Those that do have regular season internships want someone for the whole year. Wish I'd applied to more places for the fall. Right now I'm looking at one in Massachusetts. Don't know how likely I am to get it, since it looks pretty competitive. And it's possible that I've missed the application deadline? I've found three different submission dates for the same internship. Pros: housing is provided and I'd be close to Bess. Cons: doesn't get me any closer to a degree and I'd still have to figure out what to do for fall '09. I can only take things one step at a time, though. I'll be sending their program director an email tomorrow, and then get all my materials in order. Fingers crossed.


In other news, I am working on this enormous project for my stage management class. Admittedly, I am the one who made it enormous. I could have just picked a Tennessee Williams play. But no. I had to adapt a Disney film for the stage. (Hercules - symbolism much?) It is fun. I'm having a good time. Tons of work, but I think I will end up with something pretty substantial to show for it. The prompt book will definitely be a portfolio piece. 

The craft bug has struck again. I am throwing myself into embroidery. Mostly because I had an idea for a Nerdfighter themed craft. But first, some practice. I bought some cheap felt stockings at Michaels, the little ones that only cost sixty nine cents. I'm going to put the names of my sister and little cousins for Christmas. Tiny stuffed stockings. We'll see where it goes from there.

I'm so bad at updating

I get caught up in life and forget about this. I apologize.


I came back here tonight to grab some text for the Gender Guesser, an online tool that analyzes your word choice to guess your gender. (Sidenote: it guessed me as "male" for informal and "weakly female" for formal.) The post I picked was Passing Time # 46, my most recent entry over 300 words. I'd had the idea to use a list of 50 ways to pass the time as source of inspiration. Unfortunately, I haven't looked at the list since that original post.

I guess I can make that promise again. It'll probably be forgotten. Things have been changing too much for me to promise any kind of posting regularity. I've left Carnegie Mellon, moved back home, and registered for some general education classes. The next step isn't totally clear yet.
